Year 3. Month 2.

Month 2✅

I’ve never been asked “can I smell you?” (or some variation) so much in my life🤣 This teacher survived Halloween 2019 as a mint-scented Mr. Sketch marker!

I picked up 3 sheets of green posterboard, and used my Cricut to cut out the Mr. Sketch logo on vinyl. I printed a mint leaf on sticker paper and dropped a couple drops of Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil on it to give me a “minty” scent! The marker cover (my hat) is two strips of posterboard with a clear plant tray in between and lots of packaging tape. I kept the posterboards on by punching holes in the top and using yarn to make straps.

October was a little better than September. Still hard. Still exhausting. But I think we are finding a little groove🤞 I don’t feel so much like a chicken with my head cut off. More like a squirrel gathering nuts for winter!

My bigs LOVE games (jenga, war, race to 20), coloring (color by numbers/letter especially!), and alllll the paper; my littles love art, coloring, the sensory table, and playdough. We have been doing lots of those things!

We practiced our rolling skills and made our first letter of our name. (I made my whole name, some did it with me!) We also made self-portraits–little playdough people! 🙂

We did a directed drawing of Frankenstein to practice our shapes and they all did amazing! My littles cut ghosts and glued cotton balls, they also made Jack-o-Lanterns. My bigs ripped paper towels and glued them to the people they cut out to make mummies! They also made pumpkins–they cut out a pumpkin all on their own and decorated them! I’m so proud of them all!😍

October Door–one of the most popular activities in our classroom–daubbers and scissors!

Our sensory table had orange rice (my nuggets thought it was cheese🤦‍♀️😂) and black noodles, and the ghosts added their letters before Halloween (hot glue letters).

Between Halloween, the migraine I got Thursday night, school, getting ready for conferences and our Christmas program, and farming I’m ready for Christmas break so I can sleep for a week or two😅

Mom. Farmer. Teacher. I love all things messy play but organization keeps me sane! You can find me in the tractor or in the basement laminating and binding everything!
